We have practically learnt to respect our world

I don’t agree with this idea that we have practically learnt to respect our world because I think that people continue to do what they want.
It is clear that people contaminate a lot and unfortunately they don’t do anything to help the world furthermore I think that people should recycle more, use transport that doesn’t contaminate…
I also believe that it seems that they don’t realize what is happening and they don’t do anything to solve this problem. Moreover I think they could do more things to save the world.
In conclusion, I would say that people have to think more and save the world from contamination and everything that is happening nowadays.

· Observing your portfolio, can you see an improvement on your level of English since September 2008? Where, for example?

I think that I have improved because we worked on the compositions a lot and we wrote a lot which is a good way to learn.
I think that I improved more during the second term.

· Which activity best shows your level of English?

I think that the activity which best shows my level are the blogs and the portfolios because I write there and it shows my English level.

· Which activities were really USEFUL for you to improve your English? Why?

I think that the most useful activity were the three news items because it was difficult to choose a news items because sometimes it was a very difficult item and difficult to understand but I have always been able to do them.
Other very useful activities are the blog and the portfolio.

· Which activities did you not find useful to learn English? Why not?

In my opinion I think all the activities were useful but the one which was the least useful was watching the film, because it was with Spanish subtitles.

· Which activities did you enjoy doing and would like to do again next year?

I think that the best activity was the Aula d’Idiomes activity because you can do a lot of things there.

I think that this presentation is the worst presentation of the three because it was a subject that I didn’t dominate and there was a new vocabulary very difficult.
For me the best presentation was the first one because I know the topic well and I liked the subject a lot.

FOUR ILLNESS OF THE THIRD WORLD

AIDS

What is the illness?
The AIDS is an infectious disease produced by a virus, named VIH.
The first cases were described between the homosexual communities of San Francisco at the beginning of the 80s.
The AIDS virus is present in fluids of the patient besides the blood, such as the saliva, the semen or the secretions.

Where is this illness?
You can find the SIDA in the all world but the place for affect is Africa.

How you take the disease?
Only when the concentration of the virus is sufficiently high the infection takes place.
The contagion of the VIH takes place when the virus enters our current blood one.
The most probable things that can infect you are: the blood transfusions, the drug consummation, the sexual relations, from mother to son....

What are the signs?
The virus acts tremendously slow until manage to become ill.
First we have the flu. We can suffer fever, general discomfort, muscular pains... East attacks of the VIH it takes place throughout months, or years, and during this period we are capable of taking a totally normal life without noticing any symptom.
There comes a moment in which our defences have diminished so much that we start not being capable of facing infections or other processes that would be slightly important for healthy subjects.
First, coetaneous injuries appear as loss of weight or diarrhea.
If the disease advances the first infections start appearing: pneumonias for slightly frequent, chronic diarrhea and major loss of weight …
If they diminish moreover the defenses the infectious problems become increasingly difficult to control and the patient begins to suffer more than one infection simultaneously.
The death comes for one of these infections or for the appearance of tumours. Other times what produces the death is an extreme malnutrition and diarrheas impossible to treat.

What can we do to prevent the illness?
- The use of condoms of latex. Condoms of other materials do not prepare the AIDS. The condom must use an alone time, it throwing at the garbage and using another condom every time.
- To the users of drugs, who do not share needles, and that use a needle new or due sterilized for every injection.

TUBERCULOSIS

What are the signs?
· Cough and expectoration for more than 15 days
· Weakness and constant weariness
· Loss of weight
· Fever
· Night Sweats
· Pain in the chest
· Cough with blood
· Loss of appetite

What can we do to prevent the illness?
- The infected person must be protected providing that it coughs with disposable handkerchiefs.
- Hand wash after coughing.
- Suitable ventilation of the place of residence.
- To clean the domicile with humid cloths.
- To use mask in common zones.
- To restrict you visit persons not exposed to the disease.
- To guarantee adherence to the treatment.
- To put is vaccinated

In Catalonia the businesses on the rural tourism have created an association to promote rural tourism.
The members of this group can have no more than 15 rooms and they want to create a rating system to verify the quality.

At the moment there are a lot of famous persons in the world. There’re singers, actress,politicians…There are obviously advantages and disadvantages about being famous.

On the one hand, famous people are rich and every people know him. They are favored than the rest of the world in restaurants, pubs,discos,shops…because for them everything is free because people from the place are admired and is given everything to them when they see him.

On the other hand, famous people don’t have a private life because there are paparazzi who spy them all the time. There’re the fans,too,who sometimes become heavy, for example when they go to the theatre to watch a play and all people go there and say: “Can I take a photo please?”. If there are only people who do this is good but if there’re more than one or two persons is heavy.

Personally, I believe that famous people don’t like to be famous person because you can’t have your private life and all people in the world know everything that happen in your life.

For that reason, I will never be a famous person because I like a lot to have my private life and live my life.

Now, in schools there aren’t any discipline. The boys and the girls don’t behave well, answer the teacher, they jump the rules…In the past this didn’t happened, children behave well, don’t jump the rules…We need rules and punishments. There are positive and negative sides of this.

On the one hand, I think that teachers aren’t stricts like the old teachers( our parents teachers) and the children are more rebel than the old children (for example our parents).

On the other hand, rules aren’t more stricts than before and I think that there’re stupids rules.

Personally, I believe that teachers will be more stricts and teach children to be a better people.

They sang the Con otro aire tracks that are a flamenco sound.
In this album the singer, la Mari, has taken on the challenge of composing track solo.
The group uses electronic and acoustic instruments for have a international audiences too.
But in the concert they speak little Spanish but don’t forget to stop pronouncing the last half of every other ward and chill out.

Dear Miss Pintó,
I’m writing to tell you what I think of our high school, the positive things and the negative things.
In my opinion the high school is a little poor because the walls are grey and this color is sad. I think that the high school is a little dirty because every day there are papers on the floor and the toilets are very dirty and there isn’t any paper.
In the winter the central heating is low and the class is cold.
In my opinion the chairs and the tables are a little old and some are broken.
I think that there are a lot of gratings in the windows and the people feel closed in.
In batxillerat there aren’t a lot of excursions and I think that the people of batxillerat need the excursions too.
I agree with the high school rules because they keep the people in their place.
The teachers are normally good normally but there are some very special and bad too.
I think that is good to have a library for the people who need to study at breaks.
The organization in the excursions is good.
I like the Christmas decoration in the high school a lot.
In general I think that the high school is good for learning but there are a lot of things to do about its image.

My Trip To Ibiza!

Ok, I’ll start. Good morning everybody! I’m Laura Juncà and I’m a student at IES Castelló d’Empúries. Today want to talk to you about my last holidays because I like going on holidays a lot and every year I go to a different place.
I went to Ibiza to dance traditional dances with Esbart of Castelló d’Empúries.
We left to Castelló at 4 p.m. to go to Barcelona airport to catch the plane. We arrived in Barcelona airport at 6 p.m. and we left for Ibiza at nine thirty p.m. When we arrived in Ibiza there was the Esbart of Sant Rafel who took us by bus to Sant Antoni. At night the young people from Ibiza took the young people of my Esbart to the Sant Antoni’s pubs.
Finally we left the pubs at 4 a.m.
Next day we woke up at 8 a.m. to visit Ibiza. We were tired but we took the bus and we went to Ibiza.
In Ibiza we visited the castle and the village. Then we took the bus and we passed in front of Pacha. When we saw Pacha we said: “This is Pacha?” because it wasn’t very beautiful but a person from Ibiza said: “At night it is very beautiful”. Later we went to the traditional museum in Ibiza, it was very beautiful.
Then we had lunch in a forest in Santa Eulàlia. For lunch we had sandwiches and bananas. The boys threw the food at each other and we had a good time.
In the afternoon we visited the hippy market and I bought some earrings, then we visited Santa Gertrudis and after we returned to Sant Antoni to have a reception with the cultural councillor and we ate a typical cake. After we had dinner with the Sant Antoni’s Esbart and we went to Sant Antoni’s pubs again. We danced all the night.
On Sunday morning, the third day, we slept all morning and in the afternoon we went for a walk to Sant Antoni and at 4 p.m. we went back to the hotel to dress and make up for the dancing.
We got on the bus and we went to Sant Rafel, there we went to mass and after we danced. We danced very well and everybody told us that we were very good dancers.
Afterwards we had dinner in a restaurant and then we went to the hotel to sleep.
There were a people who didn’t sleep because at 5 a.m. we left Ibiza to return to Castelló.
At Ibiza’s airport I bought a Pacha perfume.
We slept all the plane trip and when we arrived in Castelló everybody was very tired.
I think that is one of the best trips I have ever made because I laughed a lot and I met people from Ibiza who were very friendly.
In March Sant Antoni’s esbart will came her to dance too.
I recommend you to go to Ibiza but in the summer when there are a lot of parties.
That’s it.

Tracy is a girl who starts the high school and she has friends. She's a good girl. When she starts she wants to be popular and she becomes friends with the most popular girl in the school.

This girl is Eve and she's a bad person. She's a drug addict, alcoholic, she has bad marks...

Tracy starts to become similar to Eve and she starts ti drink, drugues,sex....

Then Tracy answers her mother and her mother is sad but Tracy tells her she can't tell her anything because her boyfriend is drug addict. Then the mother's boyfriend comes to Tracy's house and Tracy is ver angry. After Eve comes to lives with Tracy in her house too.

Then there are a lot of problems because Eve is an influence on Tracy. Tracy's mother is very angry and she phones Tracy's father (because they're divorcied) and she tells him that he must have to live with him but Tracy doesn't want this.

Tracy falls in love with a boy, Javi, but Eve goes out with him. Tracy doesn't know this.

After Tracy's mother throws Eve out of the house and Eve is angy and she tells Tracy's mother that Tracy is a bad influence on her.

The Tracy's mother and Tracy throw her out and tell her that they never want to see her again.

Tracy starts a new life....

Tracy Vs Adrian

Tracy and Adrian are very different. Both are teenagers but they are different teenagers types.

Tracy is rebel, she drinks alcohol and she takess drugs....she doesn't have a good life.

Adrian is a teenager who has problems but he doesn't drink alcohol and he doesn't take drugs. He has the typical problems of a teenager.

They are similarities too but not a lot.

Tracy and Adrian fall in love, Tracy with Javi and Adrian with Pandora.

Tracy's parents and Adrian's parents are both divorcied.

Opinion film

I think that is a good film for teenagers because it makes thm think about life and the problems that they can have at this age.

I think that she is like this because her parents are divorcied, she doesn't like her mother's boyfriend...

She isn't a bad person, the bad person is Eve who makes her do things that she shouldn't.

She doesn't feel loved and for this reason she needs to be popular and she needs the love of people, so she starts to be a Eve's friend.

Catalonia is the second capital where there are more divorces, the first is Canaries with more divorces than marriages.

In Catalonia every 20 minutes a couple files for divorce.

In 2007 30.456 couples was married and 26.038 was divorcied.

After 2005 there was more divorces for the express divorce law.

Now, the number of marriages has declined considerably.

The IPF's mission is " promote and defend the institution of the family" to reduce the divorces.

The horror story: My new house

Last year when I was in my new house alone (my family’s old house) I heard a voice that said to me: “ Keira, I’m here; I’m in the kitchen”. When I heard the voice I went to the kitchen and I saw a woman who had a knife in her hand. I was very afraid and I ran to my bedroom and I closed the door. When I turned round I saw the woman again but now with a rope in her hand.

Then I said: “ What’s your name? What do you want?” and she said: “My name’s Jess. I’m your dead grandmother. When I was young I was like you and I remember when I was a young woman and I didn’t like anything, so you left this house and never return”.
I was very afraid, so I took my things and I left the house!
Now, I live in EEUU, far from my house, and I live with my boyfriend because I’m very afraid that my grandmother will come back.

Hi!
My name is Laura Juncà Garriga and I was born in the Clínica Santa Creu on 21st November 1992. I live in Castelló d'Empúries with my parents and my younger sister.

My father's name is Anicet and he is head of the civil protection.

My mother's name is Assumpció and she's a secretary.

My sister's name is Marta and she is eight years old, she studies third primary.

When I was little I had a lot of problems with my leg and I couldn't walk for one or two years.

I studied primary in CEIP Ruiz Amado in Castelló d'Empúries, here I met my friend Nuri.

After I finished primary xchool I started ESO in the IES Castelló d'Enpúries.

Now, I'm studying social batxillerat in IES Castelló d'Empúries too.

In the futur I will be teacher.

I have a lot of friends but I have five bests friends: Nuri, Júlia, Clàudia, Cèlia and Albert.

I love dancing and skiing.
